This is the largest of the Tylecodon species and can grow up to 2m in height. Slow growing. Large light green leaves are produced in winter and shed in summer, photosynthesizing through its attractive papery bark. Long red-orange tubular flowers are produced in spring when the leaves have fallen. Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Water sparingly during the growing season in winter. Do not water in summer when the leaves have fallen.
